Eastern Land Solutions is run by Michael Manning and his son Marshall out of Roebuck, South Carolina. The two of them own the business together and work it together, alongside a two-man crew Michael has known for decades. They clear land for homeowners, farm owners and small commercial builders across Spartanburg, Greenville and Laurens counties. When you call, you get one of the people who will actually be standing on your property.
Michael has spent more than 25 years running heavy machinery and taking trees off job sites, and he brought all of that equipment and know-how into this business. That means dump trucks and high-capacity chippers on site, and land clearing services that cover the whole job rather than half of it. He has cleared everything from a single stubborn stump for a neighbor to a golf course renovation that took out well over 500 trees. The approach is simple: quote it honestly, show up when we say we will, and leave the site better than we found it.
Every job runs the same five steps, whether it is a half-acre back lot or a multi-acre site prep.
We come out, walk the property with you and look at what is actually there: tree size, slope, access, what has to stay and what has to go. You get a straight number based on what we see, not a phone quote we revise later. Estimates are always free.
We work out how the equipment gets in and where the material goes. That decides whether the job is best handled with forestry mulching, which leaves the material on site, or full clearing with haul-off in our own dump trucks. We flag anything that needs a utility locate or a permit before we start.
We bring our own machinery and crew. Because we run our own chippers, dump trucks and clearing equipment, we are not waiting on a subcontractor’s schedule to start your job. You get a start date and we hold it.
Trees come down, stumps get ground or excavated out, roots and brush get grubbed, and the ground gets rough graded. This is where a site turns from wooded or overgrown into something you can build on, farm or mow.
We clear the debris, tidy the site and walk it with you before we pull off. If something is not right, we fix it then and there rather than after you have paid.
Eastern Land Solutions handles the full range of land work on one job ticket, from the first tree down to the final grade. We serve residential properties, farms and small commercial sites across Spartanburg, Greenville and Laurens counties. If your property needs clearing, mulching, stumping, digging or leveling, it is one call and one crew.
We take wooded, overgrown and unusable ground and turn it into land you can actually do something with. That covers everything from a single building lot to acreage being opened up for pasture or development. Because we run our own trucks and chippers, the debris leaves with us instead of sitting in a pile for weeks. Land clearing is our core service and it is what most of our jobs start as.
Services include:
Forestry mulching clears brush, saplings and small trees in a single pass and leaves the material behind as mulch. There is no burning, no hauling and no torn-up ground, which makes it the cleaner option when you want the land opened up without a bare dirt scar. The mulch layer also holds the soil in place and cuts down on erosion and regrowth. It is the fastest way we can make overgrown land usable again.
Services include:
A stump left in the ground blocks grading, mowing and anything you want to build. We grind stumps down below grade or excavate them out entirely, roots and all, depending on what happens to the ground afterwards. If the area is being graded or built on, full excavation is usually the right call. We backfill and level when we are done so you are not left with a crater.
Services include:
We handle the dirt work that comes with opening up a site. That means digging, moving and hauling material with the right machine for the ground you have. As excavating contractors who came up through tree and stump work, we are comfortable on sites where roots and buried debris make the digging awkward. Everything we take out, we can haul out.
Services include:
Once the trees and stumps are gone, the ground has to be made level and made to drain. Our land grading services rough grade the site so water runs where it should and the ground is ready for whatever comes next, whether that is a house pad, a shed, a driveway or a field. Getting the grade right at this stage saves money on everything built after it. We can grade the same week we clear, since it is the same crew and the same equipment.
Services include:
We cut in new right-of-ways and keep existing ones clear, including sewer and utility corridors. This is steady work Michael has been doing for years, and it takes a crew that can handle both the tree work and the brush in one mobilization. We clear the corridor to spec and come back on a maintenance cycle if you need it kept open. Bush hogging and overgrown brush removal fall under the same service.
Services include:
Trees are where this crew started, and 25 years of taking them off job sites means the tree work inside a clearing job never gets subbed out. We handle tree removal as part of land clearing, site prep and right-of-way work, and we chip on site with our own high-capacity chippers. If a tree has to come down before the real work starts, it comes down the same day the crew arrives.
Services include:

Michael and Marshall own this business and both work it. The person who quotes your job is the person running the machine on it. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson and a crew because there is no gap between them.
02
Michael has spent more than two and a half decades running heavy machinery and clearing trees off job sites, including a golf course renovation that took out over 500 trees. That is real time in the seat, not a first season with a rented machine. Experience shows up in how fast a job goes and how little damage gets done to the ground you are keeping.
03
Dump trucks, two high-capacity chippers and our own clearing equipment mean we control the schedule. Land clearing services that depend on rented machines or subcontractors slip when someone else’s job runs long. Ours do not.
04
Clearing, mulching, stumping, grubbing and rough grading all come from the same four-man crew on the same job. You are not coordinating three contractors and three schedules, and nobody is standing around waiting for the last guy to finish. It is faster and it costs you less.

We walk your property, tell you what it will actually cost and stand behind that number. Estimates are free and there is no pressure attached to them. If a job is not the right fit for us, we will tell you that too.
Eastern Land Solutions provides land clearing services across Spartanburg County, Greenville County, Laurens County and northern Anderson County. We are based in Roebuck and most of our work sits inside a 30 to 40 mile drive of it, so we can get to your property, look at it and get started without a long mobilization.
Areas we serve:
It depends on what is actually on the acre. Light brush and small saplings clear fast, while mature hardwoods, heavy stump work and steep or wet ground all add time and equipment. Access matters too — a site we can drive straight onto costs less than one we have to work around. The only honest way to price it is to walk the property, which is why our estimates are free and done in person.
Forestry mulching grinds brush and smaller trees into mulch and leaves it on the ground where it fell. Traditional land clearing takes the material off the property entirely, usually with chippers and dump trucks. Mulching is faster, cheaper and leaves a protective layer that slows erosion and regrowth, which suits pasture, trails and thinning work. Full clearing is the right call when you are building and need bare, graded ground.
Forestry mulching is priced by acre and by density. An acre of light underbrush can go in a matter of hours, while an acre packed with larger stems takes considerably longer and costs more. Terrain and slope affect the number as well. We quote per acre after seeing the ground, and mulching usually comes in below full clearing on the same site because there is no haul-off.
Stump grinding is priced on the diameter of the stump and how many there are, so a yard full of them costs less each than a single stump on its own. Root spread, rocky ground and tight access can all push it up. If the ground is being graded or built on afterwards, full stump excavation is often the better value even though it costs more up front. We will tell you which one your site actually needs.
Site prep is everything that has to happen before a foundation can go in. That means clearing the trees and brush, grubbing out the stumps and roots, rough grading the pad and making sure water drains away from where the house will sit. Getting the grade and drainage right at this stage prevents expensive problems later. We handle all of it with one crew, so the site is ready to hand over to your builder.
Yes. Farm and pasture clearing is a good chunk of what we do across Spartanburg and Laurens counties. Forestry mulching works particularly well here because the mulch stays on the ground and helps hold the soil while grass comes in. We can also grub stumps and rough grade if you are putting in fencing, a barn or a food plot.
Yes, and it is included rather than subcontracted. Tree work is where this crew started, so removal, chipping and haul-off all happen with our own equipment as part of the clearing job. That keeps the schedule tight and keeps you from managing two contractors on one site. Tree removal cost is folded into the clearing quote rather than billed separately.
